That’s where certifications like GAF’s Master Elite status come into play. But what does it mean to be a Master Elite GAF Certified contractor? And why is it important for homeowners?
In this blog post, we’ll break down what Master Elite certification is, how contractors earn it, and why you should look for a Master Elite GAF-certified roofer when you’re ready to replace or repair your roof.
1. What is GAF?
GAF (General Aniline & Film) is one of the largest and most well-known roofing manufacturers in the United States, and they have been in business for over 130 years. They offer a wide range of roofing products, from asphalt shingles to roofing accessories, which are known for their durability, performance, and aesthetic appeal.
The GAF Master Elite Certification is a prestigious designation awarded to roofing contractors who meet the company’s highest standards in several key areas: performance, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.
2. How Does a Contractor Become Master Elite Certified?
Achieving Master Elite certification is no easy feat. Only about 2% of roofing contractors nationwide earn this distinction. To become GAF Master Elite-certified, a contractor must meet a strict set of qualifications that demonstrate their skills, experience, and commitment to excellence.
Here are the core requirements for achieving Master Elite status:
- Proper Licensing and Insurance: A Master Elite roofer must have the appropriate licenses to operate in your area and carry the necessary insurance coverage. This helps ensure that the contractor is fully compliant with local regulations and can protect both your property and their workers.
- Proven Reputation: GAF only awards Master Elite status to contractors with a solid reputation for quality work. This includes a history of positive reviews, a record of satisfied customers, and a demonstrated commitment to ethical business practices.
- Factory-Certified Training: Master Elite contractors must undergo extensive training by GAF, ensuring they are knowledgeable about the latest roofing products and techniques. They must stay current with the best installation practices, product updates, and roofing technology.
- Commitment to Ongoing Education: Roofing technology is constantly evolving, and GAF requires Master Elite contractors to stay updated on the latest industry trends. This ensures they can provide their customers with the most advanced roofing solutions.
